Welcome to the Swallows band site. Swallows are an independent musical act from Minnesota that formed in 2007. Swallows' eclectic and thematic sound features the collaborations of Jeff Crandall, Aaron Kerr, Tyson Allison and Frank Spencer.

The Swallows' roadhouse show features flashes of glam, vintage rock 'n' roll, alternative blues, Americana and experimental folk. This is a dive bar cabaret with sonic similarities to The Stones, Nick Cave, The Velvet Underground, Daniel Lanois and Tom Waits.

October 2, 2008: Mixing and mastering finished for the Dissonant Creatures CD. We've finally finished work on a CD of compositions by Swallows' composer and cellist Aaron Kerr. Tyson and Jeff helped Aaron arrange and produce the CD, which will be released on Emperor Penguin Records as a joint Aaron Kerr and Swallows project. October 2, 2008: Covert Transmissions project underway. Now that the Dissonant Creatures project is wrapping up, we've begun recording the next full-length Swallows' CD, Covert Transmissions to the Elementals. We'll be posting demo mixes on the Covert Transmissions project page on MySpace. This one is a rootsy Americana CD with lots of folk, bluegrass, blues and cowboy tunes - it's kind of a depression-era project. Trust us, we began writing all of these songs long before this current economic crisis! You can check out some of the mixes on the Covert Transmissions MySpace page

Swallows' CD release parties for Songs for Strippers (and other professions) are set. We will be traveling to Omaha on Saturday, June 28, to play Mick's Music Bar and we will be returning to The Terminal Bar in Minneapolis on Friday, August 1, for our Minnesota CD release.
