Songs for Strippers
(and other professions)
Listen to Songs for Strippers (and other professions).
"Eleven tracks of vintage rock and roll that will tear you up." - John Siwicki, The Comfort Comes
Songs for Strippers (and other professions) is a rock 'n' roll roadhouse cabaret that presents a complex, sexually-driven character struggling with the balance between love, desire, death and spirituality.
This patiently crafted album features sumptuous vintage guitar tones, gritty cello lines, striking vocals and an eclectic fusion of musical styles.
On the dark and seductive tracks “Come to Me,” “I Won’t Let You Down” and “Days Like This,” Swallows sound like the roadhouse band in a Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez movie.
And on the rockers “Not Your Kind of Man,” “The Craven King” and “Hardball,” Swallows have crafted intense guitar and cello combinations with flashes of T-Rex, the Rolling Stones and 60s garage rock.
On a CD that unnervingly vacillates between emotional shallowness and existential depth, it is the languid alt-country ballad “Eventide” that finally offers listeners an emotional catharsis as Swallows take their bow and dive into the deep divine.
"Brilliant…. The overall effect is a dramatic, nearly operatic build." - Bob Milton, The Milton Files
Songs for Strippers (and other professions) will be available on CDBaby.com and for digital download in July 2008.

Tracing the Cracks
(Thinland)
Listen to Tracing the Cracks.
Tracing the Cracks is the first and last album by Thinland, the group that Aaron Kerr and Jeff Crandall formed with Jason Fritts and Patrick Hennessey in 2002. The Thinland material was folky, introspective, and atmospheric. The CD featured excellent string arrangements by Aaron Kerr, Sena Thompson (violin, viola) and Jeff Crandall as well as excellent guitarwork by Mellow Drunk's Leigh Gregory. Thinland's sound was often compared to R.E.M., Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, Eels and David Sylvian.
